My media product represents a number of social groups.
Indeed its main character can be defined by Gender, Age and Class for which numerous visual clues appear throughout the piece.
Age & Class
Much of our piece co-defines both groups with merged visual clues to both categories. Therefore I will describe and highlight these together in the same analysis.
In the opening scene a 'wide shot' of a substantial family home tells us that our character is both an 'older' and successful family man.
Our first glimpse of him is an over-the-shoulder shot where his well groomed appearance and smart watch tells us he is in a comfortable situation financially and generally of middle class. Although we do not see is face directly, from the views we get we can guess he is around 40 years old.
The panning shot shows he looks to be in a 'home-office' with accounts files carefully placed to suggest he partially works from home and is involved in a business that may well be his own.
He is a careful man who places his gloves and secret book well out of a child's reach, high in a cupboard.
As he opens the cupboard a carefully constructed shot captures the 'premium brand' logo on his shirt to further confirm his social status.
He does not wear shoes at home to avoid dirtying the carpet in his sanitised middle class 'white' home.
Gender
Although not overtly expressed within the piece I had decided that our main character is a male single parent raising a young daughter . This makes him an interesting 'counter-type' as he subverts any expectations of appropriate behavior.
(According to the UK Office for National Statistics 400,000 families were headed by lone fathers, representing 13.5% of all single-parent households in the UK. Therefore it is an uncommon social group and worthy of consideration as component of this characters makeup.)
In the final scene, our charters young daughter has a nightmare and wakes up looking for comfort. It is our male character (and not a mother figure) that appears in order to provide support.

In Addition, age, gender and class in 1 Hour photo challenges and coincides with my protagonist.
Age and gender in 1 Hour photo elaborate on the plot of this main character's aspirations and desires to stalk one particular family. Which ultimately, takes over his life. Both appearance of both this character and mine dress in similar conduct, such as 'tucked in shirt' which evidently suggest they both are in there in an age rage on late 30's and early 40's. Although both are binary oppositions in terms of family lifestyle and secret addictions. it is clear that these male characters appear to be in control of there lives and surroundings. Both shows similarities in which they astute specific situations. Additionally, both appear to be experience and 'comfortable in there own skin' which reinforces the stereotype of men of similar age to these characters; in which they seek direction and certainty within their lives.
